Of Bradenton, FL, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at the age of 88 while at his home in Jackson. He is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce (Harvey) Karoub; five children, Ronald (Sue) Karoub, Robert (Tonya) Karoub Jr., Karen (Mike) Ricci, David (Karen) Karoub and Scott (Ginny) Karoub; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren and one on the way as well as a sister, Mariam Rizk of Dearborn. He was born to Albert and Rhoda Karoub in Highland Park, MI. Mr. Karoub proudly served as a Staff Sargent in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII. While in the Marine Corps. Bob married the love of his life in 1943 and dedicated himself to his family. Bob retired from the Kroger Company in 1985 after forty years, service to others was one of his many strengths. Always quick will a smile and a genuine concern for all that he met. He enjoyed an active life; boating, fishing, woodworking and golf occupied much of his recreational time and represented his favorite hobbies. He was a member of the Lion’s Club, touched the hearts and lives of many and will be greatly missed. A service honoring his life will be held at the funeral home Sunday afternoon, October 27, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends for visitation from 1:00 until the time of service. He will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery (4200 Belford Road Holly, MI 48442) on Monday, October 28, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to National Diabetes Foundation or Disabled American Veterans.
