Born in Lowell, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Lillian (Lord) McKelvey. She was a graduate of the Beverly School for the Deaf. She was a resident of Salem for the past 15 years, previously residing in Lynn and Lowell.
Ruth was involved with the New England Home for the Deaf and was a member of the Red Hat Society, the Revere Deaf Club and was a former member of the Wesley United Methodist Church of Lynn. She was an avid bingo player and greatly enjoyed her magazines, word searches, puzzles and playing games with her grandchildren.
She leaves her children, Robert E. Blundell and his wife Christine of Haverhill, William H. Blundell of Lynn, David B. Blundell and his wife Cheryl of Middleton, Susan L. Cardone and her husband Francis of Georgetown and F.W. Blundell. She was the mother-in-law to James J. Manning. Ruth was the Grandmother to Raina, Courtney, Colleen, Christopher, Tiffany, William, Jacqueline and Kimberly and is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.
Ruth’s Funeral Service will be held in the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Thursday at 10:00AM. Relatives and friends invited. Burial will be private. Visiting Hours Wednesday 3-7PM.
