David T. Burton was born February 7, 1940, in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Hobart and Ann (Cox) Burton. He attended Shawnee schools before joining the United States Army in 1959. He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1965. He retired from Tinker AFB after 32 years of service. He was awarded the Contribution of Improvement of Government Operation signed by President Jimmy Carter on September 19, 1978. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and VFW. David was an avid fisherman. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother: Harry Price.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra, of the home; two sons: David Paul, and wife, Annette Burton, Terrance Burton and John Kelly; one daughter: Carol Garett;13 grandchildren: Dylan Burton, Active Duty – Army, Daniel Burton Kelly, Active Duty – Navy, Ryan Garrett, Active Duty – Air Force, Matthew Kelly, Thomas Kelly, Ricky Kelly, Kate Kelly, Jeremiah Kelly, Blake Garrett, Dakota Burton, Juan Burciaga, Bryan Burciaga and Lisa Burciaga; one great grandchild: Kingston Burciaga; two sisters: Martha Stout and her husband, Royce and Rose Marie Banks and her husband, Jim; one brother: John Price; two brothers-in law: Paul Lyon and wife, Doris and Bill Lyon and wife, Mary; one sister-in-law: Mary Pinkston; and numerous nieces and nephews.
