Jewel was born December 05, 1930 in Dardanelle, Arkansas. She was the second of three daughters. Jewel was preceded in death by her parents Bryant and Leota Moore.
Her sisters are Virginia Schneider of Burney and Jimi (Buck) Catron of Maryville, Tennessee.
Jewel moved to Burney in 1947 at the age of 16 and met her husband, William Turner. She married William in October, 1947.
Jewels first job in Burney was at Stoiches Café. Jewel ran the fountain until returning to Arkansas in September to December. Upon returning to Burney Jewel’s husband became a bus driver and Jewel took a job at Johnson’s Fountain.
After her first daughter was born in 1950, Jewel worked as a waitress at the Hiway Club. After her second daughter, Yollanda, was born in 1956 she was a switchboard operator for Citizens Utilities.
In 1965 Jewel and her husband built an A&W Rootbeer Drive-In and operated it for 39 years in Burney. They sold it a couple of times, but always took it back.
Jewel lived in Burney for 60 years before moving to Red Bluff in 2007. Jewel is survived by her two daughters, Eugena Turner (spouse-Jerry Conner) of Red Bluff and Yollanda Ragsdale (Michael) of Red Bluff. Jewel has four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hoyt-Cole Chapel of the Flowers in Red Bluff, California.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Walnut Grove Christian Center in Red Bluff, California.

A Celebration of Jewel's Life will continue at the Red Bluff Fairgrounds in the Cafeteria building immediately following Jewel's Funeral Service.
