Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mary J. (Hogan) Evans. She grew up in Lynn and graduated from Lynn English High School, Class of 1939. She then lived in Nahant for most of her life.
Maureen was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Nahant and was a member of Our Lady’s Sodality. She was also a secretary at the Nahant Country Club, a member of the Nahant Garden Club, and a member of the Lynn English High School Reunion Committee.
She leaves three sons Ronald LeGault and his wife Peg McCormick of Denver, CO, Kevin LeGault and his wife Nasrin of Lowell, and Joel LeGault and his wife Doreen of Stoneham, five daughters Adrienne Gordon and her husband Jeffrey of Millbury, Alison LeGault of Lowell, Megan LeGault and her husband Chris Evans of Westford, Maura White and her husband John of Swampscott, and Tara McGrath and her husband Stephen of Boxford, a brother Robert Evans and his wife Kaye of Pepperell, two sisters Elizabeth Healey of Woburn and Ursula LeBlanc and her husband Leo of Norfolk, 19 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Mark LeGault, sister of the late Kenneth Evans, Elaine Healey and Lucille Powers, and sister-in-law of the late William Healey, Richard Powers and Fred Healey.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 8:30AM from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home 157 Maple Street, Lynn followed by a Memorial Funeral Mass in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Nahant at 10AM. Burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Memorial Visitation Wednesday morning 8:30AM to 9:30AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Maureen’s memory may be made to My Brother’s Table, 98 Willow Street, Lynn, MA 01901.
