A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, April 19, 2014 in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Ricky Varnell officiating. Interment will be private. Box 2525, Macon, Georgia 31203.
Sally was born in Macon, Georgia, June 21, 1918. She was the daughter of the late Bonnie Burroughs Johnson and Charles Wesley Johnson. She attended Wesleyan College and graduated from Mercer University in 1941 with an AB degree. She was a teacher in the Twiggs County School system for many years. She was active in the PTA and she was also a Red Cross volunteer. She was an active member of Cherokee Heights United Methodist Church until she moved to Stone Brooke Assisted Living in Gray. At that time she became a member of Gray United Methodist Church. At the time of her death she was the oldest member of the church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, David J. Fargason and also by an infant brother.
She is survived by her three children: Peggie and Richard Epps of Gray, Charles and Gail Fargason of Big Canoe and Betty and Donnie Brooks of Ivey; five grandchildren: Rick and Elizabeth Epps, Staci and Eric Cofty, Dr. Chad and Susan Fargason, Kellie Fargason, and Beth and Matt Morris; seven great-grandchildren: Parker and Kaitlyn Epps, Madison and Jackson Cofty and Tyler, Caroline and Kathryn Fargason. She is aslo survived by one sister-in-law, Anne F. Gardner of Macon.
