Erma Griner Rudd, 92, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2014. She was born in Nashville, Georgia on October 7, 1921, a longtime resident of Jacksonville and an active member of the North Jacksonville Baptist Church. After 39 years employment with Barnett Bank, she retired in 1985. Over the years, she maintained and treasured the friendship of Barnett retirees, LaTrelle Johnson, Agnes Woleshin and Betty Tackett. Erma enjoyed being a homemaker, maintaining the prettiest yard in the neighborhood and baking the best coconut cake and sweet potato souffle. Ms. Rudd was preceded in death by her husband, Ormand Rudd, her beloved dogs, Bear and Tippy, her parents, one sister and three brothers. She is survived by brother-in-law Grady Rudd and his wife, Alice; nieces Marjorie Brown, Martha Miller and Margaret Dibling; nephew Perry Griner and other extended family, friends and dear neighbors. The family of Erma Rudd extends their sincere appreciation to LifeCare Center of Hilliard and Community Hospice for their compassionate care during the last two years of her life. Funeral services will be held at Hardage-Giddens Town & County Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, Fl 32205, on Wednesday, May 7 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Chris Coram officiating.
