James worked as a General Labor with Atlas Company. He was of the Baptist Faith. James was a member of the VFW Post 4848 and American Legions Post 95. James served in the United States Air force.
James is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Ressie Burnum; three Brothers Roy, Kenneth and Hubert Burnum
James is survived by his wife Shirley Burnum; sons Michael and Mark Burnum; sister Catherine (Cat) and Henry Potter.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 15,2014 from 4-7 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel and on Friday from 10:30 until time of serivce
Funeral services for James will be conducted at11am on Friday, May 16, 2014 in the funeral home chapel with Henry Pottor and Jerry Watkins officiating
Entombment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens
In lieu of flowers memorial contribution can be made to Hearth Hospice, 1800 Rossville Ave, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37408
