He married Tzena Bayless on Friday, April 25th, 1969. They had three AWESOME children Ivan (Jun), David, and Anna (Brock) and three WONDERFUL grandchildren Sullivan, Chloe, and Phoenix.
Those immediate family members proceeding him in death are his Grandmother, Rita C Smith; his uncle, Harold (Hal); his dad, Robert (Bob); his brother, Dennis.
Those left… grieving, are his wife and children and grandchildren (named above); his mother, Beverly; his uncle Jim and aunt Grace; his siblings, Charlotte, Craig (and Sherry), Lorie (and E.J.); and Lorita; and all his cousins, nieces and nephews; his closest friends Norm and George, and all of his life-long friends, Paintball friends, Facebook friends, and co-workers in this life. He will miss you all and as Mike would say, “I’m going to bed… see you later.”
Mike was like a breath of fresh air every time I looked at him. He was so funny. He was dependable and honest. HE LOVED. His integrity was… steadfast. He was wise and giving and he provided whatever his family, friends, and co-workers needed. He will be missed from this place, but (for) we know “it is appointed once for a man to die, but after this… The RESURRECTION:” (Hebrews 13:27)
“Jesus said unto Mike, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in Me shall never die. Believest thou this? And Mike said “yes LORD, I believe.” (John 11:25 & 26)
Mike & Tzena were perfect for each other from the beginning. We were preordained, predestined, and prepared to produce good fruit (our children, grandchildren)… we always wanted to make a difference.
He loved to hunt, play paintball and to build beautiful pieces of furniture. He was genuine and gifted!
Mike loved Tzena, Ivan, Jun, Sullivan, Chloe, David, Anna, Brock and baby Phoenix… with ALL his heart.
