William E. LeBlanc, Jr. of Revere, formerly of Stoneham, Danvers, Peabody and most recently of Naples. FL, died at the VA Hospice, Unit 2C in Bedford on Friday, October, 21, 2016 after a brief but valiant battle with cancer. He was 83. Mr. LeBlanc was born in Waltham and grew up in Stoneham. He qualified and was accepted as a Stoneham student to the Somerville Regional Vocational School where he graduated after mastering the skills of Cabinet Making and Carpentry. Following graduation in 1952, Mr. LeBlanc immediately joined the US Marine Corps. Bill was a Weapons Instructor at Camp Lejeune and Parris Island. Honorably discharged from active duty in 1955, Bill continued to serve his country in the Marine Ready Reserves. In 1956, he joined the US Auxiliary Air Force, Massachusetts Wing of the Civil Air Patrol. Bill served in the Medford Squadron and remained active for 18 years serving throughout the Mass-NH area earning the rank of Lt. Colonel upon his leaving in 1973.
From 1955 through 1962, Mr. LeBlanc was self-employed as a custom builder in both residential and commercial building and remodeling. Beginning in 1962 and continuing throughout 1973, Mr. LeBlanc was employed as a carpenter, locksmith, and lead carpenter foreman. He worked at First National Bank of Boston as well as New England Deaconess Hospital. In 1973, he worked for Cabot, Cabot, & Forbes, Boston and held the title of Supervisor of Technical Services Group Operations until his retirement in 1999.
Mr. LeBlanc was a lifetime member of the Andover Sportsman Club of Andover where he formerly served for many years as Rifle Range Director, and was a member of the Andover Sportsman Club Board of Directors.
Mr. LeBlanc is survived by his wife, Joanne T. (Morretti) Bonura of Revere with whom he shared a blended family of children and grandchildren. He leaves his children; Bill LeBlanc, III and his fiancée, Donna Ring of Billerica, Melanie (LeBlanc) Wellcome and her husband, Christopher of Andover, Sean LeBlanc and his wife, Victoria of Reading, and Eamon LeBlanc and his wife Allison of Reading. He also leaves one step-daughter, Tara (Bonura) Lagomarsino and her husband, Steven of Shrewsbury. Mr. LeBlanc also leaves his grandchildren: Alanna (MacDonald) Newland and her husband, Phil of Reading, Matthew and Andrew LeBlanc, both of Reading, Jackson LeBlanc, Janey LeBlanc, and Katie Faye LeBlanc, all of Reading. Mr. LeBlanc also leaves one step-grandson, Vincent Lagomarsino of Shrewsbury.
Mr. LeBlanc was the son of the late William Everett and Irene (Dorian) LeBlanc. He is also survived by his sole sibling, Mrs. Jan (LeBlanc) DeFeo and her husband, William of Nashua, NH. Mr. LeBlanc also leaves two nieces, Nancy Markuson and her husband, David of Burlington and Sandra Swanson and her husband, Philip of Hague, NY, a grand-niece, Kristin Markuson and a grand-nephew, Erik Markuson, both of Burlington as well as a number of LeBlanc cousins, blended family inlaws, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home 157 Maple Street, Lynn on Saturday at 10 AM followed by a Memorial Funeral Mass in St. Pius V Church, 215 Maple Street, Lynn at 11 AM. Burial of ashes with Military Honors in Woodlawn Cemetery Everett. Memorial Visiting Hours on Friday from 5-8 PM.
