Beloved husband of the late Sophia (nee Habrukovich) Gyba; loving father of Susan Letendre and Dea Sullivan; proud grandpa of Michael Letendre, Sean Sullivan, Nicholas Letendre, and Rebecca Letendre; cherished great-grandfather of four. Preceded in death by his siblings, the late Walter Gyba and the late Mary (nee Gyba) Stanek, and his parents, the late Peter and Rose (nee Hytko) Gyba. William was born on January 12, 1924 in Ansonia Connecticut. He resided in Wolcott, CT, Orlando, FL, and Oak Park, IL. A graduate of Leavenworth High School and the University of Connecticut, he worked as a mechanical engineer for Timex Corporation and Martin-Marietta. He also served in the Army Air Force in WWII. William was an active member of St. Simeon's Orthodox Church (Titusville, FL) and All Saints Orthodox Church (Chicago). He was also a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and a volunteer at the Orlando Science Center. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 2nd, from 4:00pm until time of chapel service at 7:00pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 7750 West Cermak Road, Forest Park, Illinois. Interment All Faiths Memorial Park, Casselberry, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to:
