A memorial service will be held Noon on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel with Rev. Richard Humphries officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. A double inurnment service for Mr. and Mrs. Miller will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery,
Mr. Miller was born July 27, 1925 in Roanoke, Virginia, the son of Carl and Lula Ann Miller. Ray was a Dental Laboratory Technician for many years working in Roanoke, Virginia, Stuart, Florida and Columbia, SC until 1985. Ray served his country proudly in the U.S. Marine Corp during WWII and Korea. He was a member of Rosewood Baptist Church and will be remembered as a man of Grace and Honor.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Helen Dillon Miller; two brothers, Fred and Glenn Miller; and a sister, Mayola Buskar. Survivors include his son, David R. Miller (Karen); two grandchildren, Chris Moon and Erin Moon; one great-grandchild, Nicholas Hassel. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews and a special friend, Ronnie Demig.
The family would like to thank the staff at Palmetto Hospice for their support over the last three months and to his special caregivers, Angela Hicks and Sebrina Jacobs.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or to Rosewood Baptist Church.
