Doud “D.J.” Jordan Wible, Jr. passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Thursday the 15th of February 2018. Doud was born in Houston on the 14th of November in 1940 to Dr. Doud Jordan Wible and Mildred LaVerne Wible.
He graduated from Lamar High School in 1959 and Sam Houston State College in 1963 with a Bachelor of Science. Doud was a charter member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity and was active in the support of his fraternity brothers. He spent his career working for Shell Oil Company at the Bellaire Research Center and retired after 33 years.
Doud was preceded in death by his parents, brother William Wible and sister Karen Wible Stone. He is survived by loving wife JoAnn Taylor Wible of 55 years; children Katherine Wible Cane and her husband Geoff, Barbara Wible Brady and her husband Mike, Deborah Wible McGraw and her husband Dan. He was blessed with seven grandchildren Christti Fikes, Heather Hundley, Brandon Cane, Derek Cane, Michael Brady, Jordan McGraw, Noah McGraw; great-grandchildren Blake Fikes, Courtney Fikes and Kayley Hundley. Sisters Judy Gonzales and Laverne Stringer. Also, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Last but not least, Doud’s love for animals was endless. Dachshunds held a special place in his heart and it all started as a young boy with Herman. This love continued on throughout his life including Sleepy, Sir Winsor, Suzie, Scooter, and still with us today is Schultze.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family at five o’clock in the afternoon until eight in the evening on Monday the 19th of February.
A memorial service celebration is to be conducted at two o’clock on Tuesday the 20th of February in the Chapel at Forest Park Lawndale
