87 of Tampa passed away on March 11, 2018. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, William in 2001. Survivors include her children, Linda E. Spangler of Santa Rosa Beach, Robbie of Alabama, Mike of Tampa, and Mark of Michigan; grandchildren Christian, Jessica, Cameron, Candace and Lauren; great grandchildren Bella, London and Asher. Emma was born on August 9, 1930 in Vieques, Puerto Rico to Jeronimo and Heidee Castro. At the age of 2 she moved to the United States with her family. She returned to Puerto Rico in her teens and received her high school diploma from Esquela Superior High School, San Juan. Emma returned to the States and attended The University of Tampa. She went on to work at Florida Roofing and Builders Supply and then Walgreens. She was a 60-year member of
Beta Sigma Phi International (ΒΣΦ), where she assisted in providing social and cultural services throughout the community. Family will receive friends from 5 PM to 7 PM at Blount and Curry Funeral Home, 605 S. MacDill Ave. Funeral Service will be held at 10 AM on Friday March 16 at Christ the King Church
Entombment Service will be held following the Funeral Service at Garden of Memories
