William Richard “Dick” Myer, 70, of Statesboro, GA and formerly of Colora, MD, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2017 in Vidalia, GA. Born in Cheverly, MD, Dick was the son of the late Andrew “Jack” Myer and Mary Myer. He was raised primarily in Havre de Grace and Baltimore, MD and Lancaster, PA. Dick attended high school at Baltimore City College and graduated from Manheim Township (PA) High School in 1965. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1966 and was honorably discharged in 1970. Following his military service, Dick went to work for Firestone Tire & Rubber, where he worked as a retail store manager until he retired in 2001. During his Firestone career, he received many awards for excellence and performance. Dick was a great lover of horses and cherished many pets during his life.
Dick is survived by his son, Troy Myer, his brother Andrew Myer and his wife, Joanne, his niece Alicia Tremaine and her husband Rich, his niece Christina Pavela and her husband, John, and his nephew Steve Wrona and his sons, Brandon and Brady.
Relatives and friends may gather at Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air, Inc. 610 W. MacPhail Rd. Bel Air, MD 21014 on Saturday, May 5 at 11:00 AM where a Memorial Service will be held to celebrate Dick’s life. For the convenience of all attending, a reception will be held on the premises following the service.
