Jerry Cioffi age 90 of Toms River and formerly of Brooklyn died Wednesday April 11th. He started his working career as a skilled craftsman for LaMar Toy Company, Brooklyn and finished at Penn Plaza, Manhattan as a freight operator and security personnel. Jerry first met his wife Gelsomina on a ship from Italy in 1947 and as fate would have it, they met again 3 years later and were married in 1952. He lived most of his life in Brooklyn before retiring to Toms River 28 years ago. He was a parishioner of St. Maximilian Kolbe Church. Surviving are his wife of 66 years Gelsomina, 4 children Marina Cioffi-Greco, Angelo Cioffi, Annette Cioffi-Parker, and Jerry Cioffi, Jr, 9 grandchildren and a great grandson. Visiting will be Friday from 4 - 9 pm at the Quinn Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Rd. Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 9 am Saturday at St. Maximilian Kolbe R. C. Church, Berkeley Twp. and burial will follow at Ocean View Cemetery, Staten Island.
