Betty Catharine Cusick, 82, of Columbiana, OH, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 4, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 24, 1936 in Harmony, PA, daughter of the late Harold A. and Catharine (Boyer) Sproul. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ was a living faith shared and exhibited by her giving and caring spirit, always thinking and doing for others. After meeting Dale O. Cusick at a Gospel-Fest, the harmony they shared grew into a wonderful love and blessed marriage. They sang gospel music together for 14 years, known locally as Highway 9. Appropriately so, one of their favorite songs was “Heaven Must’ve Known I was Lonely”. She was a faithful member of the Lisbon Baptist Temple.
Betty was an accomplished photographer, with photographs often displayed at County Fairs and Celebrations. She was quite gifted at sewing, crafting and loved to garden. Betty was passionate about her interest in antiques and flea markets, often seen in Rogers, OH. However, no matter where she traveled, she was always certain to search out local yard sales and flea markets. She was affectionately known as the “M&M Grammy”.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Richard Dean Foster; son: Randolph Coberly and grandson: Kenneth Coberly, Jr.
Betty is survived by her husband: Dale O. Cusick; three sons and daughters-in-law: Edward (Donna Mae) Coberly, Pittsburgh, PA; William H. (Ann) Coberly, Jr., Bellingham, WA; Kenneth (Cindy) Coberly, Beloit, WI; her daughter and son-in-law: Dorothy (Joseph) Moretti, Eliot, ME; her daughter-in-law: Cheri Coberly, Eliot, ME; 12 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Harold (Sharon) Sproul, Daugherty Township; David (Cheryl) Sproul, Mahomet, IL; one sister: Wanda Geery, Checotah, OK; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (GPS 843 Sunflower Road, adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 3 p.m. with Pastor Matthew of Lisbon Baptist Temple, officiating. Private interment will be in the Garden of Devotion, Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to her Church Family and to everyone at Hospice of the Valley for their kind and compassionate care. If desired, memorial contributions may be directed to a Veteran's charity of one’s choice. On line condolences may be offered at www.saul-gabauer.com
