Mildred was the fourth in a family of ten children. She was raised in Knoxville, TN, moved to Detroit, MI where she met James Roland, married, and moved to Texas and has been a Kingwood resident for almost 50 years. Some of you might know her from Calico Corners where she worked for over 30 years creating beautiful memories by helping to decorate many homes in the area.
Whether she was helping neighbors, touching the lives of people through her advice, providing old-fashioned remedies, thoughts about winning at the casino, or advice on life, she established common ground regardless of age or background and was able to help many with challenges they were facing.
Mildred was likeable, lovable, and a mother figure to many. We are truly honored to have enjoyed her for as long as we did but feel cheated because she left us too soon.
She was one of a kind and will be sincerely missed.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at the Chapel of Houston National Cemetery, 10470 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77038.
