SWAMPSCOTT– Lawrence Wellington Trott, age 79, of Swampscott, formerly of Lynn, passed away at Salem Hospital on Friday, June 8, 2018. Born on February 21, 1939 in Lynn, he was the son of the late Howard and Bernice (Warren) Trott. He was the beloved husband of the late Eleanor (Kenny) Trott with whom he shared 39 years of marriage and the loving companion of Marge Tedesco of Lynn and her family for 14 years.
Larry graduated from the Lynn Trade High School. He served in the US Marine Corps and in the US Navy Reserves as a “Sea Bee” for over 30 years of total military service. He was employed as a welder at GE in Lynn and Wilmington, and later Ametek in Wilmington for over 30 years prior to his retirement. Larry was an active member of the Peabody Elks, B.P.O.E. #1409. He enjoyed dancing, bowling at Metro Bowl in Peabody, and golfing at Middleton Golf Course. Larry also enjoyed traveling and especially spending winters in Ft. Myers, Florida.
Larry was the loving father of Michael Trott and his wife, Joyce of Lynn, Patrick Trott of Swampscott, and Christopher Trott and his wife, Jennifer of Littleton, CO; the cherished grandfather of Jessica, Ryan, Gillian and Abigail Trott; the dear brother of Warren Trott and his wife, Vicki of New Hampshire and the late Robert Trott of Santa Maria, CA, and the uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, June 15th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m. at the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn, MA 01904. Interment will be private in Swampscott Cemetery.
