On June 6, 2018 William (Bill) Jirkovsky passed away peacefully with his family around him. Services for Bill will be held in Forest Park, Illinois at Woodlawn Cemetery on June 16, 2018 from 12:00 to 1:30pm.
Bill was born on 10/30/1926 in Chicago, Illinois to William and Mae Jirkovsky. At age 16 he joined the Navy and became a part of the 21st Regiment, 3rd Special Seabee's fighting for us in WWII with sevice in Okinawa for 2 years. After serving our country he came home to serve as a Berwyn Illinois Fireman. He worked as a firefighter for 35 years retiring in 1986. He also completed Art school and worked as a freelance artist for Benefic Press illustrating text books and a photographer for Burns Associates. Bill was married to his beloved wife Anida for 48 years. He leaves behind three children William Jirkovsky (Cindy) of Lacey, Washington, Nancy Litzler of The Villages, Florida and Debby Malnic (Wayne Laudenbach) of Lisle, Illinois. Three grand children and six great grand children. Anida and Bill moved to Sunland Village in March of 1987. They spent their time there enjoying dancing, golfing and playing cards. They also helped out at Bingo, Pancake breakfasts and Dances. They were avid travelers with their motor home traveling across the United States and Canada. They worked a few summers in Yellowstone National Park and loved cruising (Alaska, Mexico, Panama Canal and the Carribean).
