Cynthia “Cindy” Ann Orosco passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 10, 2018. She was born on September 17, 1961 in San Antonio, TX as the oldest child to Richard Ayala Orosco and Linda June (Aguilar) Orosco. The family later moved to Houston, TX, where Cindy was a graduate of Charles H. Milby High School.
Cindy had a love for Houston’s sports teams, and you could often find her cheering on the Astros and Texans. Cindy was also a great cook and enjoyed hosting family holiday and birthday gatherings and weekend cookouts at her home. She loved watching the Food Network to learn new recipes, especially her favorite chef The Pioneer Woman. Cindy also enjoyed travelling to new places, and particularly loved New York City. Besides spending quality time with family, Cindy’s other treasured activities included her love of music, arts and crafts, going to the movies, going to the beach, decorating her home for the holidays, and going to her favorite Houston restaurant, Spanky’s Pizza.
Cindy is preceded in death by her father, Richard. She is survived by her mother, Linda; daughter, Erica (Thornton) Gannon and son in law, Matthew “Matt” Gannon; daughter, Nicole Cardenas; brother, Richard “Rick” Orosco Jr.; sister, Regina (Orosco) Quada, brother in law, Joe Quada, niece, Megan Quada, nephew, Jason Quada, and niece Kaitlin Quada.
Please join us for a celebration of Cindy’s life. A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, June 22 at 1:00 pm at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home (6900 Lawndale St., Houston, TX 77023), followed by a committal service. A reception will immediately follow the services at the home of Matt and Erica Gannon.
