Edward Michael Litishin (77), of Bel Air, MD died on July 6, 2018 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. Beloved husband of Mary Elizabeth Scott (Scottie), they had just celebrated 50 years of marriage. He was born on February 19, 1941 in Phoenixville, PA to the late Michael and Anne (Selfinger) Litishin. Devoted father of Jeffrey Litishin and his wife Krista McGhee of Mt. Washington, MA and Karen Reddel and her husband Drew of Fallston, MD. Survived by 4 grandchildren (Mac, Devin, Ruby, and Wyatt) and his sister Dianne Ponzio and her husband Frank. Also survived by many nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Eddie (he never missed a family event). Ed was preceded in death by his brother Joseph Litishin and his sister Patricia Slawecki.
Ed graduated from Phoenixville High School in PA then went on to study electronics in the Navy Reserves and received an Associate Degree from Temple University. He worked as a field tech for electronics companies which took him to Massachusetts where he became actively involved in the Boy Scouts. Upon returning to PA to be closer to family, Ed took a job with Seimen’s Medical Systems in the early 80’s installing and maintaining MRI machines, where he worked for over 25 years until retirement. Ed loved the outdoors, hiking, camping, fishing and gardening. He built their dream home in the mountains of central Pennsylvania. After surviving a fight with prostate cancer, he and his wife moved to Bel Air, MD in 2008 to be close to grandchildren.
Relatives and friends may gather at the Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air, Inc. 610 W. MacPhail Rd. Bel Air, MD 21014 on Friday from 11-12:30 pm. A Funeral Mass will then be celebrated at St. Margaret Church 141 N. Hickory Ave. Bel Air, MD 21014 at 1 pm. Entombment Highview Memorial Gardens.
