Donna Lenora Adams, 80, of Epperly Hill passed away July 7, 2018 at Bowers Hospice House. Her loving husband of 62 years, Dempsey Harold Adams, 87, passed away on July 9, 2018 at Raleigh General Hospital.
Donna was born on June 14, 1938. She was the daughter of the late Robert Frelan and Minnie Walker Hedrick. Donna was a retired bookkeeper and a member of Coal City Community Church where she sang in the choir. She was an avid reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by brothers Roger Hedrick and Robert Frelan “Red” Hedrick Jr. She is survived by brothers Leon Hedrick and Terry Hedrick.
Dempsey was born on June 10, 1931. He was the son of the late Monroe and Arzula Bays Adams. Dempsey was a member of the Coal City Community Church, a retired coal miner and a US Air Force veteran. He loved playing golf and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by brother Wesley Adams and sisters Reva Basham and Helen Houck. He is survived by brothers Clyde, Ernest and Willie Adams and sister Patricia Fink.
Also left to cherish their memory are their children, son Steve Adams and wife Debbie of Epperly Hill, daughter Lisa Wills and husband Robert of Farley Hill, two granddaughters, Holly Adams of Epperly Hill and Amber Marin and husband Chris of Daniels, and one great-granddaughter Karleigh Martin. Special thanks to all the staff of Bowers Hospice House.
Funeral Service will be held at Blue Ridge Funeral Home Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 1:00 PM with Rev. David Rumberg officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be two hours prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
