Cristofer Martin Garthe was born March 18, 1974 in Fullerton, California. He was the son of Richard and Pamela Garthe. He grew up in Placentia, California and graduated from Valencia High School. After attending Fullerton College, he went on a 2-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to Sendai, Japan. He then attended BYU-Hawaii where he met the love of his life, Kenna Rae Myers. They were married June 20, 1998 in the Portland Oregon LDS Temple. They have 3 children, Brittanie (18), Spencer (14) and Trent (11). He graduated from BYU (Provo) and was hired by the Houston Rockets and worked for them for 11 years. He then took a job with Topgolf and was the Director of Sales for 3 years. Cris passed away on July 13, 2018, at the age of 44 in Houston, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, 3 children, his mother, 3 sisters, 1 brother, 4 sisters-in-law, 5 brothers-in-law and 27 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.
Cris had a heart of gold. He was the life of the party and made everyone feel like his best friend. He always gave of himself, his time and his talents to help others. He was a true representative of Jesus Christ through word and action.
Cris fought hard, he was a true warrior who never complained and looked for the blessings and the Lord's hand in every aspect of his life.
Cris loved his family and made time for them no matter what. He worked hard and played hard, but served his family with his whole heart. He loved the Lord and his family and put them both first in his life. He was a true family man.
