Mary Emma (Jones) Holland, 90, of Springfield, passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 in Brunswick, Georgia. She was born on July 10, 1928, in South Vienna, Ohio, the daughter of the late Fabian and Opal (Tarbutton) Jones. She married Jonathan H. Holland on January 15, 1947. They have one son, Jonathon H. (Olivia) Holland of Brunswick, Georgia. She was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church and retired from the Springfield City School as an Administrative Secretary. Mary was also a longtime member of the First United Church of Christ and served on the board, as a Deaconess and auditor for the church. She was a member of the Golden Eagles Club, Crystal Cathedral Orange City, CA. She and Jon were members of the Springfield Country Club, Springfield Symphony and the Women’s Association of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra. Her first interest and concerns were for her husband and son. As her parents aged, she and her husband wanted to make sure her parents got o travel taking them on many trips. Her personal interested was doing needlework, playing bridge and decorating their home.
A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Graveside services will follow the viewing at 2:30 pm at Ferncliff Cemetery.
