Cearmease Linda Rucker Bey was born on May 19, 1949. She was the first daughter of eight siblings. She graduated from Emerson High School in 1967 and continued her education at Indiana University. There, she received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Sociology and African American Studies. She graduated from Indiana University in 1972. She married the Love of her life, Shallie M Bey Jr on February 16, 1972 and in later years had three beautiful children. Cearmease was a devout Christian, she loved to sing, and she was the most passionate about her family. She successfully owned and operated a house keeping company for over thirty years. Through her thriving business of service, she took pride in offering mentorship and employment to many in her community.
Cearmease is preceded in death by her parents (The Late Rev. James Andrew Rucker and Frances Jeanette Rucker), her brothers (Rudolph, Houston, Sidney, David, and James Rucker), Nephews (Michael Speight, Philip Rucker), paternal and maternal Aunts and Uncles.
Cearmease leaves in her passing her husband (Shallie M Bey Jr), her children (Jarrett Bey, Andrea Bey, Laelani Bey Metcalf and their spouses), her sisters (Brenda Diane Speight-Taylor, Janice Sue Culver), her Aunt Mary Rucker, her Cousin (Judge Robert D Rucker Jr.) and her close and beloved cousin Myrna Paige.
