Mimi was born in Selden, Texas on July 20, 1924. She played half-court basketball in high school and lived there until she moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1942. She met a young man named B.E. Carter at Williams and Dickey, where they both worked and three months later they were married. Mimi was a devoted wife and mother and B.E. was a police officer in Fort Worth, Texas. They had 5 kids while they lived in Fort Worth, one of which passed away shortly after birth.
The family moved to Garland, Texas in 1966 where Mimi resided at the time of death. They opened and operated a Dry Cleaning business and she was employed by Texas Instruments. They were members of South Garland Baptist Church for many years. Mimi was also an excellent cook and the family will always crave her turkey and dressing.
Mimi was preceded in death by her parents, 7 siblings, husband of 58 years and infant son.
She is survived by four children, five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and ten step-great grandchildren.
In Mimi’s latter years she occupied her time by playing Free Cell and Spider card games on the computer. When asked if she ever wins, she will say, "occasionally."
She also enjoyed her time at Cedar Creek Lake watching the low flying ducks, hummingbirds and all her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids playing in the lake.
