Anna Lou was born June 20, 1933 to, Dr. Robert Oliver Fuqua and Clara “Sugar” Pauline (Pierson) Fuqua.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Big Spring.
Anna Lou was a “perpetual student”, earning her Bachelor’s degree from Hardin Simmons University in 1953, a Master’s from North Texas State in 1955 and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in 1973, from North Texas State University. Anna Lou held teaching positions at Hardin Simmons University and Howard College.
Anna Lou Bradberry lived in Big Spring, Texas where she cared for her husband, “Bob” who preceded her in death on March 25, 1986. In 2010, she joined her son, Benjamin, in Wesley Chapel, Florida where she remained the rest of her life.
Survivors include her son, Benjamin Mark (Kari Lea) Bradberry; of Wesley Chapel, FL; son Thomas Oliver Bradberry of Big Spring; sister Roberta (Duane) McQueen of Lubbock; nieces Clarissa (Keith) Bell and Tara (Michael) Williams both of Lubbock; several great nieces and nephews as well as many cousins.
Graveside services will be held at Gentry’s Mill cemetery at 2:00 p.m. , on September 17, 2018.
