Mary is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Guadalupe Quintanilla; her parents Felix and Carmen Rodriguez; brothers Jesus and Jose Rodriguez; sisters Lola Loza and Emilia Barba. Mary is survived by her sister Rosemary Robles, daughters Frances Gonzales (Danny), Kathy Quintanilla, Sandra Quintanilla and Patricia Quintanilla; her grandchildren Jonathan and Michael Gonzales, Illyssa Garcia and Bryce Esquivel.
Mary was the Rock of her family and an example of the nicest person you could ever meet. She was a loving and caring daughter, sister, Wife, Mom, Grandma and Tia. Mary was an excellent cook and known for her tamales, “birthday chicken” and “chicken mole.” Christmas was always celebrated at her home with an annual tradition of her grandchildren spending the night sleeping in the living room by the Christmas tree. A tradition her grandchildren carry on today as adults.
Mary worked at the local packinghouses and retired to stay home and raise her girls. In the 80’s she worked as a cook for Ralph’s Taco House and loved working with the Senora Garcia. Her favorite time was taking her of her grandchildren. Mary had a group of friends called the T-Babes comprised of family and friends that met for a “lunch meeting” once a month on a Wednesday.
Mary will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Services will be held on Wednesday, September 19 with a Rosary at 10:30am and Mass at 11am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church 427 N. Oak St., Santa Paula. Burial will follow at Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery 380 Cemetery Rd. Santa Paula
