Delia Pellegrini Dufrechou, of New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 95 years of age. Wife of the late Elmer Mayer Dufrechou. Daughter of the late Salvador and Lena Brockhoeft Pellegrini.
As an outgoing and friendly person, she enjoyed and participated in many activities such as garden and book clubs and traveling. Delia served as president of Vista Park Garden Club (Garden Sprouts) multiple times and was a member of the Literary Study Group of New Orleans.
Delia is survived by her daughter Suzanne Dufrechou McCarthy (Edward, Jr.) and sons Michael E. Dufrechou, Sr. and Don P. Dufrechou of Cordova, TN and daughter-in-law, Edith Hanrahan Dufrechou (wife of the late John L. Dufrechou) and her sister, Marie Pellegrini Kepper of Sumrall, MS.
Grandmother of Edward McCarthy III, Mark McCarthy, Colleen McCarthy Fowlkes (David), Michelle Dufrechou Weber (John), Paul Dufrechou, Michael Dufrechou, Jr. (Amanda), Adam Dufrechou, Stephen Dufrechou (Sarah), and Scott Dufrechou (Melissa).
Great-grandmother of 10.
As a recent resident of Our Lady of Wisdom Healthcare, the family thanks the nurses, caregivers, and staff for their competent and caring attention to Delia’s needs and Notre Dame Hospice nurses.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Monday, September 17, 2018 at 1pm. Visitation will begin at 11am. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
