Eugene A. “Gene” Serraes, 85 years old, died peacefully at his home in Jupiter, FL on Monday, October 22, 2018. Born in West Palm Beach, FL, he was a graduate of St. Ann High School, Class of 1950 and served our Country as a US Army Veteran. Gene was a local General Contractor from 1956 until his retirement 1992, and was an Honorary Life Member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2075.
He was preceded in death by his son, Glen in 1980; a grandson, Michael in 2017; and a brother, Louis in 2013.
Gene is survived by his loving wife, Norrene; seven children, Andrea Serraes, Denise. Goode, Gina Serraes, Matthew Serraes (Carole), Martin Serraes (Sheila), William Serraes, and Mary S. Obermeier (Bill); eight grandchildren; and one great grandson. Additional survivors include two brothers, Alex Serraes and John Serraes (Teresa), a sister, Josephine Gotwalt (Mike); three sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 26, 2018 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Home, 5411 Okeechobee Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL 33417 with a Scripture Service to be held at 6:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at St. Ann Catholic Church, 310 North Olive Ave, West Palm Beach, FL 33401.
