Born in Greenville, SC to Edna Weekley and the late Harold Weekley, Sandra grew up in the Chattanooga area. Although born deaf, Sandra overcame many obstacles that life threw at her with the help of very supportive family and many friends along the way. She graduated from the Tennessee School for the Deaf and earned an Associates Degree from Delgado Community College in New Orleans, LA. College is where she met and married her late husband, Wilfredo Murillo.
Sandra was an independent woman who worked diligently at every job. She worked with the United Way of Greater Chattanooga and AmSouth Bank until leaving to dedicate her time to her family. She loved watching soccer, solving crosswords, working jigsaw puzzles and visiting with those she cared most about, including her 4 grandchildren that she loved more than anything. She recently spent a week in Hawaii with her immediate family who now, more than ever, cherish that time spent together.
Sandra is preceded in death by her father, Harold Weekley and her husband, Wilfredo Murillo.
Sandra is survived by her daughter, Angela Murillo (Jake) Nye of Hixson, TN; son, Michael John (Justine Augeri) Murillo of Washington, DC; granddaughters Ashlyn and Ailey Nye of Hixson, TN and Simone Augeri Murillo of Washington, DC; grandson Sebastien Augeri Murillo of Washington, DC; mother, Edna Weekley; sisters Sherry (David) Church, Susan Weekley, Deanna Brown; brothers Rick (Karen) Weekley and Bob (Jackie) Weekley; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
