Edmundo Aristeo Munoz of Hebbronville died on October 29, 2018 at Kruse Village, Brenham, Texas, at the age of 94. He was born in Cuevitas, Texas on September 3, 1924 to Arcadio Munoz Garza and Paula Barrera de Munoz. He worked in the shipyards in Houston as a welder during World War II. Upon returning to Hebbronville, he worked for the Texas Highway Department until his retirement.
Edmundo was a generous man with an exceptional work ethic and a wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed the company of his friends and family, and could draw even strangers into a friendly conversation.
Edmundo was a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Hebbronville. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Jaime (Hortencia), Daniel, Rodolfo (Luisa), Arcadio “Tito” (Aminta); his sisters, Angelita (Jose Perez), Herlinda (Patricio Garza), and Paula Minerva Munoz; and several nephews and nieces.
Edmundo is survived by his wife of 59 years, Olivia Gutierrez de Munoz; his daughters, Yolanda (Greg) Creager, and Ana Mari (William) Congdon; his granddaughter, Olivia Creager; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Edmundo will be buried at the New Hebbronville Cemetery on November 2, 2018 following a Requiem Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Requiem aeternam dona ei, Domine, et lux perpetua luceat ei. Requiescat in pace. Amen.
