Gasaway, Charles C. (Chuck) age 90, of Twin Lake, MI. passed away Friday, Nov. 2. 2018 at Mercy Hospital. He was born Feb. 4, 1928 in Chattanooga, TN to Carl Sr. and Beaulah (Whitner) Gasaway. Chuck moved with his family to Muskegon, MI. and resided in the area most of his life. Chuck served his country in the Air Force from 1943-1947. Chuck held several positions during his lifetime. He was a delivery driver for Frozen Foods and Swift Ice Cream. He also worked as a manager for Canada Dry and held a franchise for 7 Up Bottling Co. He retired from Electrical Concepts as a plant manager in 1991. Chuck was very active in the Travelers Protective Association (T.P.A.) of Michigan for over 30 years. He served as Post President, State President, and National Director. He also served as Post D Secretary-Treasurer for more than 20 years. Chuck enjoyed bowling, and held the position of Secretary-Treasurer for many years on The Red Triangle League, and also the Friday 747 League. Chuck also enjoyed golf, fishing, and deer hunting with his sons. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Carl, Jr., sister Ruth Faith, and sister Delores Ludlow. On March 1, 1980, he married the former Ines Davison Varney, and they enjoyed 38 years together. She survives him, along with 3 sons, Charles Michael (Mike) Gasaway (Liz) of Muskegon, Donald Gasaway (Deb) of Whitehall, and Bradley Gasaway (Angela) of Irons, sister Betty Jean Parker of Tennessee, sister Nancy Albright of Muskegon, and Jerry Gasaway (Delma) of Fremont, CA., 2 stepsons, Scott Varney (Tina) and Bradley Varney, both of Muskegon, 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held along with a luncheon at the Fruitport Eagles Lodge, 3354 S. Dangl Rd. Muskegon, MI. 49444, on Wednesday November 7, 2018 from 1 to 4 p.m.
