Pauline Branstetter Stovall Bussell joined the other Angels in Heaven on November 4, 2018. She was born to Walter Everett and Celia Jane Steele Branstetter on September 4, 1929, in the small Texas town of Wadsworth. After attending high school in Bay City, she, and her lifelong friend, Eva Nell Joyce Montgomery, moved to Houston. In 1947 Pauline married Charles Lloyd Stovall. Together they had a beautiful baby girl, Pamela Susan Stovall Bland. Pauline’s precise accounting skills carried her from various positions at Flowerland Nursery, Houston, to the CPA office of Richard S. Ohendalski, Huntsville, and as church treasurer at Union Grove Baptist Church, Richards. Pauline’s dedication and love to God joined her in fellowship with Union Grove Baptist Church, Richards. Her generosity gave time to serving on social committees tending to numerous church and community supportive activities, chairman of Union Grove Baptist Church Pulpit committees and served as Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. Those who love Pauline will be ever grateful for her walk through this world. She made a difference in every life she touched. Pauline’s commitment to her community and love of the Stovall family was focal in organizing family anniversaries, being Vice President of Pool Cemetery Association, and tenaciously securing the Texas Historical Commission Marker for Pool Cemetery, Montgomery County, Texas. Pauline’s work on this earth will forever be remembered and insure a lasting beauty of this world. Pauline’s heart was always open to her friends and neighbors. Spending time at her weekly hairdresser or shopping with longtime friend Shirley Taliaferro, Pauline’s smiles, sense of humor and friendship were immeasurable. Pauline was faithfully “hands on” for all family members and friends as they needed refuge from the storms of life, or just someone who would listen. Pauline’s surpassing devotion and dedication as a wife carried her through the life and loss of Charles Lloyd Stovall. Ten years later Pauline attended the 50th reunion of Bay City High School where she renewed a friendship with former classmate, Roland Bussell, whom she married in 1997. This day of celebration for Pauline’s life is not without appreciation for Roland. He was there as she faced enormous loss of loved ones. Pauline is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Celia, sisters, Mary and Joyce, brothers, Everett and Forest, daughter, Pamela Stovall Bland, and grandson, Mark Zachariah Bland. She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Roland Bussell and son-in-law, Elliot Bland. Numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends, who will always hold her lovingly in their hearts, also survive. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 8, 2018 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Cashner Funeral Home, Conroe, Texas.
