She was born on January 4, 1927 in Colorado City to Richard Marion Hardison and Marian Adams Hardison.
Betty was a woman who lived by her faith as a strong Christian woman. She loved her family with all her heart and always made sure to teach them the important lessons in life. She was an amazing loving mother to her 4 children, her three biological ones and one who began as a foster-child but whom her and her husband Hubert fell in love with and adopted. Her patient nature and kind heart made her the best mother a child could have. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, cooking, watching the Houston Astro’s play ball (she was a super-fan), she also enjoyed traveling and going on vacation with families, including spending time with her sisters. She was a woman who enjoyed her family time and her family in turn cherished the time they shared.
Betty is survived by her son Andy Howell of Houston, by her daughters Sue Yassen of Tyler, Beth Boon and husband Jeff of Tyler and Toni Howell of Longview, and by her grandchildren; Doug Yassen, Christy Yassen, Jake Boon, and Emily Boon. She is also survived by her sisters Sarah Grove of Odessa and Cathy Tambur and husband Art of Seabeck Washington.
She was preceded in death by her husband Hubert Howell in 1996 and by her sisters Frances Sweatt and Geneva “Bebe” Smith.
A funeral for Betty will be held on Monday, November 12th at 2pm in the Kiker Seale Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Colorado City Cemetery.
