He was born July 16, 1955 in Rio Bravo, Mexico to Armando and Trinidad (Zurita) Puente. On July 6, 1990 he married Sherry Bombka in Geneva.
Joaquin retired from Motorola/CTDI after 30 years of service. In his youth he enjoyed playing billiards and baseball. He loved playing Fantasy Football and watching the news. He enjoyed gardening and just tinkering with things around the house. He was active in the Young at Heart group at church. Joaquin loved singing and he even enjoyed shopping excursions to Hobby Lobby. He loved many things about life, but his family was most important to him and he cherished the time spent with them.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry; his children, Joaquin and Cassondra Puente, and Martin Martinez; his siblings, Armando, Yolanda, Raul, Rogelio, Raymundo, Ramona, and their spouses; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Luis and Minerva.
There will be a visitation from 4 to 9pm on Thursday, November 15 at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Hwy., Marengo. There will be a continued visitation from 9am to the 10am funeral Mass on Friday, November 16 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 323 N. Taylor St., Marengo.
Interment will be in Windridge Memorial Park, Cary.
