Alfonzo N. Vecci, 85, of Toms River, NJ (formerly of Raritan, NJ) passed away on Monday November 26, 2018 at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ. Born in Raritan, NJ on July 17, 1933, he was the son of Luigi and Concetta Vecci. He was a graduate of Somerville High School in Somerville, NJ. Alfonzo was a veteran of the US Army having served as a medic during the Korean War. He was a self- employed shoemaker in Raritan, NJ for many years and then worked for the Somerset County Clerk’s Office for 15 years retiring in 2005. He was a communicant of St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church. He enjoyed his family, golfing, Atlantic City and playing cards with his friends.
Alfonzo was predeceased by his wife Lucille in 2017. He is survived by 3 daughters, Karen and Alan Magliaro of Florida, Christine and Richard Kennedy of Somerville, NJ and Lynn Baker and her late husband Kenny of Roseto, PA; a son Russell Vecci of Garden Grove, CA; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday December 3, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church 130 St. Maximilian Lane Toms River, NJ. Entombment with Military Honors will follow at Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.quinn-hoppingfh.com.
