She is preceded in death by her mother, Alice; adoptive parents, Arthur "Art" and Marilla Husselman; her best friend of 55 years, Marty Sharp; and her oldest daughter, Jodi Lea Yates. She is survived by her first husband, Michael Yates (married in 1968); her second husband of 38 years, David Gorney (married in 1972); her three daughters, Wendy Michelle (Celia) Baez, Misty Marie, and Autumn Miranda; son, Dave (Rachel) Beilfuss and three nephews that she held near and dear to her heart, Scotter, Bumper (Mandi) and Kenny. Ruthie was the proud Nana of 11 grandchildren, Joshua, Nicolas, Brandon, Shelby, Taryn, Najee, Jhanae, Gabryella, Mariah, Isabella, Kenric, and Jaxon; as well as G-Nana to five great-grandchildren, Dayton, Caleb, Lilliana, Holly, Cam’Marie, Elijah, and Maddison. She was a beautiful, caring woman who loved fiercely and opened her heart to everyone. Her greatest gift, however, was being a mother. A service celebrating her life will be held at Chas. J. Burden & Son Funeral Home on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 12:00 noon. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
