Robert Bryan Radenz, 65, peacefully passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at his home in Katy, Texas after a brief struggle with cancer. Born on June 6, 1953 in Houston, Bryan was the younger son of the late Robert and Doris Radenz.
Bryan’s adult years were enriched by the special love of his step-father, Walter Weichel.
Bryan graduated from Spring Woods High School in 1971 where he enjoyed playing baseball, then went on to receive his diploma at the University of Houston. His early employment included selling drill pipe before he got into the construction industry where he moved on to become the construction foreman for Heartland Homes, a Texas custom home builder in Katy, Bellville, Sealy, and Wharton.
His favorite pastime was spending time with his friends on his front porch, attempting to solve all the problems of the world. He also enjoyed watching baseball, collecting coins, driving in the mountains, eating barbecue, going to the gun range, and had an uncanny knack for being late to most every event. But nothing compared to the love he had for his beloved dog, Ava, who was faithfully by his side every day.
Bryan is preceded in death by his mother Doris Weichel, his father Robert A. Radenz, his brother Michael (Mickey) Radenz, and his dog Sugar. He is survived by his stepfather Walter Weichel, his sister-in-law Kathy Barry and husband Rod Barry, nieces Lindsey Radenz and son Kyle, and Allison Barentine and husband Brandon, many loving cousins and friends, and his beloved dog Ava.
He will be laid to rest at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery in Houston at a graveside memorial service on February 9, 2019 at 1:00pm. In honor of the military service of his brother, father, and grandfather, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Folds of Honor, Department 13, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74182 in memory of Bryan Radenz.
