Dell M. Bellah, widow of William Everett Bellah, went home to meet her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the age of 93. Her remains will be laid to rest on Thursday, December 6, 2018. Funeral Service will be held at 1pm at Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel, 1783 E Keating Ave, Muskegon, MI 49442 with internment immediately following. There will be refreshments following at the same location. Family will be available for visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 from 2pm to 6pm.
Mrs. Bellah was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Groleau from Nahma, MI (her mother's maiden name was Turgeon.) She grew up in and around Escanaba in the Upper Peninsula in a large family, coming to Muskegon, MI by way of work, and school in Wisconsin during teen years. She worked at Seal Power during WWII. She met her husband, Everett, at church after the war and they married in the spring of 1946. She loved to sew and went back to school at Baker College for business as a senior, took a mail order course to increase her knowledge as a dressmaker and tailor, all while running her own dressmaking and alterations business from her home. She designed most of her own clothes and outfitted many weddings through a bridal shop in Grand Haven, has done alterations for many other retail businesses in the tri-city area. Dell loved to walk and was walking 9 holes of golf 4 days a week well into her mid to late 80's. She was very proud of the fact that she gotten 2 "Hole in Ones" while on a city league and has a shirt and trophy to prove it. Dell also loved music, crochet (often donating hats and booties to the maternity hospital or neo natal unit,) and to read, especially the Bible of which she had memorized much.
Dell is survived by a brother, Romeo Groleau, and a sister, Rose DeRouin, 4 children, Needra Bucholtz, Dennis (Karen) Bellah, Deane Bellah, Jackie Bellah, 9 grand children and their spouses, and numerous great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and sister-in-laws.
