Joseph Michael Tyhonas, 69, of Beaver, passed Saturday, December 1, 2018 while under the compassionate care of Good Samaritan Hospice, Heritage Valley Beaver. He was born January 1, 1949 in Brownsville, son of the late Mickey and Eunice (Weekley) Tyhonas. Joseph was the owner and operator of Gypsy Glenn Service, Beaver for over 40 years. He was a consciencious and fair business owner who took pride in providing great and honest customer service. Joseph also managed Boron/BP Service Stations in the communities of Beaver, Rochester, Midland, Monaca and Beaver Falls.
In his leisure, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at the family camp at Tionesta. He loved animals and just recently adopted his faithful little Chihuahua “Cider” from the Humane Society. Joseph was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Beaver.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years: Carol (Vargo) Tyhonas; his daughter and son-in-law: Tracey (William) DiSanzo, West Mayfield; his son and daughter-in-law: Mickey (Darcy) Tyhonas, Rochester; five grandchildren; Samantha (James) Craig, Nicholas Patterson, Hayley Tyhonas, Joseph DiSanzo and Chloe DiSanzo; two great grandchildren: Aiden and Evan; his buddy and faithful friend: “Cider”; one sister and brother-in-law: Mary Ann (David) Hogan, Brentwood, TN; his nephew: David and niece: Stacey both of Antioch, TN.
Friends will be received on Thursday, December 6, 2018 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum) and on Friday, December 7, 2018 from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. A Blessing Service will be held 11 a.m. in the funeral home on Friday. Interment will be in the Garden of Lilies, Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
