Rolando E. Rodriguez died on December 30, 2018, in the presence of family members at Methodist Hospital, where he was treated for complications with pneumonia. He and his twin sister, Evangeline Boyd, were the first twins born on January 1, 1939 in San Antonio.
Rolando attended Sacred Heart Elementary School and Central Catholic High School. He was a master electrician, a trade that he practiced to perfection over 40 years.
In 1960 he married Carlota Sandoval who predeceased him in 2013. Together they raised their beloved son Ernesto C. Rodriguez. On December 5, 2009, they delighted in the birth of their grandchild, Emilio L. Rodriguez.
Hospitalized, Rolando was able to celebrate his last Christmas with his family. His nieces, Patricia, Linda and Elva Mendoza were like daughters to Rolando. They remained close to him until his death. His family shall forever be grateful to his neighbors for their extraordinary kindnesses.
Rolando is survived by his sister, son, daughter-in-law Beth, grandson, nieces, sister- and brother-in-law Mary and Carlos Sandoval and their respective families.
