Elaine Legendre Landry, a native of New Orleans and resident of Donaldsonville, passed away on January 13, 2019 at the age of 72. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She was a big LSU and Saints fan who enjoyed cooking, going to the casino, eating at seafood restaurants, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Roland Landry, Sr.; one son, Roland Landry, Jr. (Dawn Blanchard Landry); one brother, Claude Legendre; three grandchildren, Chelsea Chifici, Brennen Chifici, and Blaze Scivicque; two nieces, Darlene Campo and Kristine Melancon; and one nephew, Harold Delaune, Jr. She is preceded in death by her parents, Josephine and Wilfred Legendre; one brother, Clark Legendre; and one sister, Kathleen Scioneaux. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of St. Elizabeth Hospital, Bayou Home Health, Our Lady of the Lake Hospital, Dr. Tara Jarreau, Dr. M. Hirsch, Evelyn Pizzolato, Blake Ewen and especially, all of the nurses and physical therapists who cared for her at her home.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 9:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial for 11:00 am at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church in Donaldsonville.
