Anna Lee Gautreau, 87, died on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 surrounded by her loving family at her home in Donaldsonville. She was a native of Barton, La. and a graduate of Donaldsonville High School where she played basketball. She especially liked going to the casino, cooking, making fudge, attending church and spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by one daughter, Monique Gautreau and companion Bryan Charlet; two sons, Claude Gautreau and wife Gail, Maurice A. “Puddy” Gautreau, Jr. and wife Pam; seven grandchildren, Miquel, Emily, Michelle, Betsy, Ryan, Matthew, and Ashley; eleven great grandchildren, Brooks, Blake, Aubree, Analise, Case, Rylee, Patrick, Baby Davis, Ben, Sam, and Kaylee, along with a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; Anna and Pierre LeBlanc; her loving husband of 63 years, Maurice A. Gautreau, Sr.; two sisters, Elma L. Guillot and Lottie Mae Callahan; and one brother, Claude P. LeBlanc. The pallbearers will be Ryan Gautreau, Matthew Davis, Brent Berthelot, Brian Landry, Bryan Charlet, Chris Veillon, Joe Ryan II, with honorary pallbearers, Claude Gautreau and Maurice A. “Puddy” Gautreau, Jr. The family would like to give a special thanks to all of the First Responders of Ascension Parish for their prompt services.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 for 8:30 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial for 11:00 a.m. at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church in Donaldsonville. Entombment to follow in the church mausoleum. Father Paul Yi will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
