Karl R. Kastner, Jr., resident of Donaldsonville passed away at his home surrounded by family on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at the age of 69. He was born in New Orleans on September 15, 1949 to parents Karl Sr. and Odette Hebert Kastner. He retired from CF Industries after 40 years of service and was a decorated Vietnam Veteran having served in the Army’s 81st Airborne Division. He was also a Friend of Bill Wilson for 28 years, one day at a time. He is survived by his loving bride of 43 years, Debra Burns Kastner; two daughters, Lindsay (Matthew) LeBlanc of Geismar and Karli (Aaron) Gaubert of Raceland; three grandchildren, Matthew LeBlanc Jr. and Hunter and Lena Gaubert; siblings, Karleen Kastner of Donaldsonville, Ken (Debby) Kastner of Lafayette, Andy (Lisa) Kastner of Denham Springs, Ronny (Sheri) Kastner and Tanya (Jim) Witchen of Slidell; special cousin, Cindy Frey of Poplarville, MS; and a stepmother, Dot Johnson Kastner of Slidell. Karl was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial reception will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 11 am until 2 pm with Military Honors Service at 1:45 PM at Palazzo Bernardo 2244 Hwy 3120 in Donaldsonville. * Please note the Sunshine Bridge is scheduled to be closed this Saturday.
