It is with heavy hearts that the family of Mrs. Caroline Ruth Porter announce her passing due to complications associated with COPD on Wednesday, February 6th, 2019 at the age of 72. Caroline now joins her husband, Gilbert Harrison Porter in the hereafter. Also joining her in the presence of our Heavenly Father is her son George Michael (Micky) Pyne, sister Susan Willoughby, and parents Charles Theodore and Margaret Thelma Willoughby. She will be lovingly remembered by her five remaining children, Christopher Pyne, KellyJeanne Pyne, Shannon Parsons (husband John), Nicole Guzzi (husband Joe), Thelma Kunz, and two step-children, Raymond Porter and Gilbert Porter, Jr. (wife Lisa). Caroline has two remaining brothers who she cherished, Bernard Willoughby (wife Judy) and Charles Willoughby (wife Romona) and a life long best friend Betty Goldner (husband Ron). Caroline had 13 grandchildren, Korey, Michael, Sydney, Joey, Jared, Samantha, Jake, Jaren, Christopher, Melony, Mia, Ryann and Conner. Caroline will forever be remembered by many other family and friends whose lives have been touched in special ways by her presence on this earth.
Caroline was a former President and Treasurer and an active member of the Southside Newcomer Club. In addition, she actively supported her husband, a Mason in both the York Rite bodies and the Scottish Rites as well as the former President of the National Sojourners Northeast Florida Chapter.
It is with extreme gratitude that the family of Caroline would like to thank the following loving and dedicated individuals for assisting them in giving her the care she needed over the last few years. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Grace Lutheran Church, 12200 McCormick Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32225. The service will be held at 11:00am with Pastor Michael Popp officiating. The family is asking that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida in honor of Caroline.
HARDAGE-GIDDENS CHAPEL HILLS, 850 Saint Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL 32225, is serving the family.
