On Wednesday, February 6, Marian Francis Miller of Santo, Texas and long time resident of Fort Worth passed away at the age of 90. Marian was born on December 28, 1928 in Fort Worth, Texas. She was a loving wife and mother. Marian was a 1945 graduate of Polytechnic High School in Fort Worth. She was married to Joe Miller for 59 years before his death in 2004. They owned and operated “Your House of Chairs” in Fort Worth for twenty-three years. Marian was instrumental in organizing the Tarrant County chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. As the vice-president of the chapter she was a frequent speaker on the subject of Alzheimer’s. She also served on the City Council of Runaway Bay, Texas, and was a founding member of Runaway Bay Baptist Church and a member of the First Baptist Church of Santo. Marian was a member of the “Busy Beavers” women’s group of Santo.
“Mern” as she was referred to by many of her friends and family, was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Miller and her parents, Archie and Lena Roberson. She is survived by her three sons, Ron Miller and wife Carol of Cedar Park, Rowe Miller and wife Anita of Santo and Regan and wife Robin of Houston; two brothers, Donald Roberson and wife Delores of Fort Worth and Marvin Roberson and wife Jeanette of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Rodney Miller of Arlington, Rachele Robertson of Temple, Kyle Miller of San Marcos, Terry Miller of Marshall, North Carolina, Heather Kent of Cedar Park, Tiffany Chapman of Dripping Springs, Mitzi Mann of Santo, Joshua Miller of Temple and Daniel Miller of Temple; ten great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 9 at Moore’s Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis, Arlington, Texas.
