He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Victoria Anunson; children, Troy (Cheri) Anunson, Jasen Anunson, and Cary (Mark) Johnson; grandchildren, Thomas Johnson, Meghan Anunson, and Carl Johnson; sister, Betty (late Ronald) Forney; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Preceded in death by his granddaughter, Sydney Ann Johnson, and sister, Dorothy Cooper.
Tom was born on June 3, 1942 in Gary, IN to the late Granvil and Eunice Anunson and was a graduate of Calumet High School. He proudly served our country in the US Army, was a member of the American Legion Post 430, and the Knights of Columbus. On May 23, 1970, he married the love of his life, Victoria Volk and together they raised three children. Tom retired from Nipsco in 2000 with 34 years of service. He later retired from the Porter County Building Department with 10 years of service and had been currently working at Menards in Valparaiso in the electrical and plumbing Departments. Tom was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandpa and will truly be missed by all whose lives he touched.
Friends are invited to meet with the family on Monday, March 4, 2019 from 2:00- 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Avenue Crown Point, IN ) with Pastor Steve Buchelt officiating.
