Alleeta Curb Kenan, was born February 28, 1920, in Temple, Texas to William Green and Edna Perry Jones. She is preceded in death by Robert Newton Curb, Leslie Alton Kenan, Jane Ann Curb (daughter) & Robert Kendall Curb (son).
Alleeta became a Christian (Old Time Revival) at Cedar Knob Baptist Church in 1939 and has been a member of the First Baptist Church, Killeen since 1953. She was baptized in the River at Burris Crossing which is now Stillhouse Hollow Lake.
In addition to being a farmer/ rancher’s wife & homemaker in the 1940’s she was a teacher at Brookhaven, Cedar Valley & Reeces Creek schools. She also worked Mid Tex Telephone Company.
Our Dearest Alleeta is survived by her children Marvin Newton Curb (Dee), Lanelle Smith (Jerre), Shirley Mingst (Fred), Robert Kendall (Deceased) Rebecca Ann Curb, along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Services was held Saturday March 16, 2019 3:00 p.m. at Killeen City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers if memorials are desired, the family suggests donations to First Baptist Church, Killeen or an organization of your choice.
